Myenergi, the British maker of the Zappi EV charger, is entering the residential battery storage market with libbi, a modular system designed for domestic energy management. The move puts the company in direct competition with established players including Tesla Powerwall, SMA Energy, and Sonnen, all fighting for market share in Europe's growing home storage segment.
Libbi's modular design allows installers to scale capacity based on customer requirements, a feature that appeals to retrofit applications where space or budget constraints exist. The system integrates with Myenergi's existing Zappi ecosystem, creating a combined charging and storage solution for households with electric vehicles and solar installations.
For installers, the entry of a familiar OEM with established dealer networks into battery storage means new margin opportunities—but also tighter competition in an increasingly commoditised market. Myenergi's success will depend on pricing, warranty terms, and how quickly it can build service and support infrastructure across European markets.
