KNX is the world's leading open standard for building automation, defined in EN 50090 and ISO/IEC 14543. The bus system uses a twisted pair cable (TP) over which both data and the 29 V DC supply voltage for bus devices are transmitted. Sensors such as push buttons, presence detectors, and temperature controllers send telegrams onto the bus, which are received and executed by actuators such as dimmers, blind controllers, or heating actuators. Programming is performed using ETS software. Due to its manufacturer independence and interoperability, KNX is the preferred solution in buildings with high automation requirements.
